Guiomar Ochoa, National Endowment for the Arts
Guiomar Ochoa has worked at the National Endowment for the Arts since 2004. She started as Scheduler to former Chairman, Dana Gioia and is currently an International Activities Specialist. The International Activities department at the NEA is responsible for developing and managing international initiatives in cooperation with other government agencies or private institutions. Among the NEA's primary international activities are partnerships involving programs with Latin America, Russia, Japan, Central Europe, China and countries of the European Union.
Before joining the Arts Endowment, Guiomar worked at the US Embassy to the Holy See in Rome, Italy.
In addition to her work at the NEA, Guiomar is a freelance writer for Walking On Travels. She has called both Rome and Paris her home but is settled, for now, in her hometown of Washington, D.C. with her husband and two young children. Fluent in Spanish, Italian and French, she is adamant about passing down her love of languages and cultures to her kids.
